Carl Taylor was born and raised in Ft. Collins, Colorado to Gary and Cathy Taylor. Moving to upstate New York in 2001, he got into the business with Local 311 working out of the theater at West Point, NY. In 2003 he did a three month tour with Metallica for StageCo working steel. After the tour he moved down to Brooklyn and began working with Local No. 4. First at BAM for a bit, he was moved to As the World Turns for the next 3 years. After having a shoulder injury, surgery, and rehab for 8 months, and unable to return to the studio, he began work at BAM, ABT warehouse, and other venues within Local No. 4 again. This year he transferred his card from Local 311 to Local No. 4 and is looking forward to many more years. |

I started in the entertainment biz barbacking at a concert venue and quickly decided that what the sound crew was doing was much more interesting. So I offered my labor in exchange for their knowledge and I am forever indebted those who took me under their wing and taught me what they knew. I was doing sound in venues and touring as a front-of-house and monitor engineer for a decade before I came to a union house. Having experienced different work environments over the years, I learned that unionism is a better way to work. I have been a proud Member since '08. |

Spotlight On New Members |

Local No.4 is offering a full roster of classes taught by our professionals, starting this Fall. We are pleased to announce that we are premiering a class in Basic Rigging - including an introduction to fly systems. These classes are open to all members. Some spaces will be made available to employees working toward eligibility for membership. We invite you to step out of your specialty and broaden your knowledge. If you have a working knowledge, use these classes to become proficient. If you’re interested, call the Local, or email Pete Fitzpatrick.
